ABOUT
Adventure: Wanderlust Tours is the premier destination to explore the immense volcanic landscape that surrounds Bend and Central Oregon! Join us on this super engaging series of walks inside this massive volcano. (INSIDE or on the flanks ????)
Naturalist Guided Experience: Our journey will take us to a sea of pumice and obsidian— black volcanic glass integral to human life! Perched on the edge of on of the largest volcanoes in North America, our first stop is the Phil Brogan viewpoint, a short yet inspiring trail where you will garner spectacular views of the Cascade Mountain Range that lies to Bend’s west. We will next make our way to a stretch of the Deschutes River just above Benham Falls, a torrid group of waterfalls whose very flow was shaped by the violent eruptions of the Newberry Volcano. Our adventure will conclude at the Kipuka, an area where islands of trees have managed to grow and flourish among a sea of lava rock. Throughout the tour, your award-winning Naturalist Guide will bring the landscape to life, sharing their knowledge of the region’s fascinating geology and cultural history! The full tour will comprise of a combination of short, easy walks totaling around 2 miles.

The tours are incredible and the guides are full of such positive energy. James is a very upbeat guy and Katie really knows her geology. I would so take a tour with Wanderlust again.
