ABOUT

Adventure: Wanderlust Tours is the premier destination for snowshoe tours in Bend, Oregon! For over 30 years, our award-winning Naturalist Guides have be leading guests into our stunning, snow-filled forests where we find animal tracks, discuss geology and hydrology, and revel in the winter wonderland of Central Oregon. We are so excited to partner with Think Wild, combining our passion for adventure with Think Wild’s passion for conservation!

Naturalist Guided Experience: Situated in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the mountains which build Bend’s backdrop, typically receives 400-600 inches of fluffy snow in winter. The immense snowfall the Central Oregon Cascades receive provides a rare opportunity to track how wild animals move and behave during the winter months. The morning will begin with a introduction and overview on data collection before we head out on snowshoe in search of animal tracks. When we find tracks, we will log them, mark a GPS point, and jot down other important details. Throughout the trip, guides from Wanderlust and Think Wild will teach guests all about track identification, animal movement patterns, natural history, and more! This educational adventure is truly one of a kind!

Location: The tour will take place in the area around Mt. Bachelor and the surrounding Deschutes National Forest of the Cascade Mountain Range of Oregon.
