Adventure: Join us for a scenic stroll along the Deschutes River near Farewell Bend Park. Our award winning Naturalist Guides will highlight the various flora and fauna that flourish along the banks as the river courses right through the heart of Bend. Our walk will be 3-4 miles along the river on mostly flat terrain. After we immerse ourselves in the natural world, we will prepare our palates for locally crafted wine paired with a 4-course meal prepared by a local chef!

Naturalist Guided Experience: Central Oregon is rich with natural and cultural history. The landscape in Central Oregon is wholly influenced by the ring of fire volcanic chain that runs from New Zealand, up through SE Asia, across the Aleutian islands and down the Cascade range all the way to the Andes in South America. During the adventure, your Naturalist Guide will highlight the evidence of this immense volcanic influence of this beautiful area we call home, connecting Bend’s geology to the hydrology of the area and their joint importance in the wine-making process for Elixir and other Central Oregon wineries. Your guide may also impart their knowledge on the history of logging in the Old Mill as you move from the river through the Old Mill district to Elixir!

About Elixir: Elixir Wine is home to a combination of both local Oregon wine as well as imported wine from across the world. Throughout their history, they have curated a very select portfolio of some of the finest wines while also taking great care to work with the best artisan producers. During our tasting and dinner, we will learn from the makers themselves about their passion and their process. The wine tasting will accompany the spectacular meal prepared by Chef Ingrid Rohrer.
