About

Join the Deschutes Land Trust, Wanderlust Tours, and Jen Zalewski for a guided paddle to the Thomas Preserve. We'll float a section of the upper Deschutes River to visit this unique island Preserve for a picnic lunch. Wanderlust Tours will provide the shuttle and boats.

The Thomas Preserve is a 7 acre island on the upper Deschutes River downstream from La Pine State Park. The Preserve was donated to the Deschutes Land Trust by Carla Thomas in 2001 and contains both dry land and wetlands and is within a Federal Wild and Scenic Waterway and State Scenic Waterway.
