Your day will end with an IN A LANDSCAPE, an outdoor concert series where America's most stunning landscapes replace the traditional concert hall.
These special events will take place on land perched perfectly to enjoy the confluence of art meeting nature. Here, Hunter will perform on a 9-foot, 1912 Steinway grand piano under the open sky, while the audience takes in the beautiful surroundings!
Mt. Bachelor, Bend | July 18 & 19

1:00 Meet at Mt. Bachelor's West Village lodge and head deeper into the Cascades. A serene paddle on the glassy waters of a pristine mountain lake awaits at the base of Mt. Bachelor where in a couple of hours we will look down from on high to our sweet paddle location. We’ll explore the basaltic lava shores, which spilled over Mt. Bachelor’s 9,000-foot slopes, spewing steam as it collided with frigid mountain melt-off from the Three Sisters.
4:30 Post paddling wonder, we’ll return to West Village Lodge, base of Pine Marten lift for the ride up and for IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild.

PLAYA, Summer Lake | July 24
Explore Fremont Point, including forest ecosystems, John Fremont history, Pleistocene glaciation, geology and subsequent archeology

11:00 Meet at the Wanderlust Tours office in Bend. Our journey will take us to monolithic Ft. Rock for a picnic followed by a short hike through the tuff ring. Next it is off to heights above Summer Lake. We'll explore Winter Ridge to take in this incredible ecosystem. We'll follow the footsteps of John Fremont and Kit Carson to understand their 1843 expedition across this superlative landscape. Native American history punctuates the day's trip! Our descent from the ridge will land us at PLAYA and beautiful music.
5:00 Arrive at PLAYA to attend IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild.. After the concert we will return to Bend
