Flat-Water Canoe Tour and Resort Overnight Stay
Meet in Bend and motor to a cascading falls where we will put in for our paddling journey. We'll launch our canoes onto the earth’s artery which carves central Oregon’s western boundary. The Deschutes River provides a dramatic means to take in the best of this area. Bald eagles, native rainbow trout, and mink cavort as we roll down the river. The aspen groves and impressive lava flows provide spectacular backdrops to our journey. Our guides will instruct everyone on canoeing techniques and lead the group down the river while sharing the natural and cultural history. An amazing deli style lunch will be served along the banks of the river.
Around Happy Hour we'll arrive in Sunriver for transportation to Sunriver Resort where we will check into our stunning lodging for the evening. Waiting for you at Sunriver Resort are multitudes of dining options including a local brewery to wet your whistle after an incredible day on the river.
We'll wake up at the comfy resort. After breakfast and a relaxing morning at the resort, two silvery ribbons await our exploration. We’ll witness spring water pushing out from the ground, an incredible hydrologic experience followed by a serene paddle down to Benham Falls. We'll enjoy lunch and then venture on foot to Benham Falls, a tumultuous Class V whitewater rapid cascading over a 6700 year old lava flow. A short journey will bring us back to Bend happy, satisfied, and inspired by the natural beauty and fresh air!

"What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.” — Pierre Trudeau, P.M.
