|WITH RECENT SNOW, SNOWSHOE SEASON IS OPEN|
Nov 14, 2009
BEND, Ore. – With plenty of new snow up in the Cascades, Wanderlust Tours has begun its snowshoe season and announces its half-day and evening Snowshoe Tour schedule for this winter and spring. In addition to its daily half-day guided Snowshoe Tours, Wanderlust Tours is offering a schedule of monthly special evening snowshoe events for winter and spring holidays.
Wanderlust Tours is also offering a new Starlight Snowshoe Tour this winter. Unlike Moonlight Snowshoe Tours, there does not need to be a full moon, so this tour is available on Saturday evenings throughout winter and spring.
Half-day Snowshoe Tours have begun and are departing daily at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from Bend and Sunriver.
Special evening events, such as Moonlight Snowshoe Tours and Bonfire on the Snow events depart from Bend and Sunriver on specific dates for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Spring Break and other holiday periods throughout the season.
All trips are led by professional naturalist guides, who take guests off trails and away from other people into the snowy forests of the Cascade Mountains. Guides provide vibrant natural and cultural history interpretation along the way and include fun snow play for all ages during the trip.
Half-day tours are $49 for adults and $44 for children under 12. Special events range from $60 to $85 per person. All Wanderlust Tours Snowshoe Tours include a professional naturalist guide, transportation, equipment, instruction and hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Wanderlust Tours, specializing since 1993 in taking small groups into remote natural areas while maintaining a low impact on the environment, was awarded the Oregon State University Excellence in Family Business Award in 2007.
